In recent blogs, I’ve mentioned an interview with my daughter who has been my inspiration for writing about courage at the intersection of faith and grit.
Melanie is a three-time breast cancer, stage IV metastatic breast cancer “thriver.” Her story of cancer and faith can challenge each of us to greater faith and greater courage.
Previously, I only quoted parts of the interview, but I’d like to share the entire video. It’s a bit lengthy, but I think you will be encouraged.
It was recorded for a women’s retreat at the church she grew up in and where we as a family have worshiped for forty-five years.
I hope you will listen to Melanie’s story and then read Olivia’s in Faces of Courage. While Melanie’s courage and cancer experience inspired the novel, her story is very different from Olivia’s. Olivia suffered domestic abuse. Melanie, praise the Lord, did not. Melanie has stage IV metastatic breast cancer, while Olivia’s remained at stage I.
Thank you for watching.
