Today, May 11, is release day for my debut novel, Faces of Courage. (Happy dancing!)
The “why” behind this and other works of fiction that I wrote is not so happy, but God is using it for good.
My daughter, Melanie, has endured eleven years and three bouts of breast cancer. Her second occurrence designated her Stage IV metastatic, of which there is no cure. Her courage throughout is why I write what I write.
In an article I recently wrote for TWJ magazine, I said:
“Inspired to tell stories like Melanie’s by showing others how courage can come at the intersection of faith and grit, the idea for my Faces of Courage novel emerged. Shortly after, my passion to spread the word about God’s goodness blossomed into more stories begging to be told, and my Faces of Courage series was born.”
I hope you’ll order Faces of Courage and read, not Melanie’s story, but Olivia’s.
Bonus with your book purchase: Included in the back of Faces of Courage is a short story about Olivia’s best friend Carmen, called “The Wedding Miracle.”
