Let’s chat today with our millionaire rescuer Wentworth “Sully” Sullivan.
Q: Welcome, Wentworth Sullivan
A: Sully, please. For the love of Mike, please, just call me Sully.
Q: Sully it is. Tell us about your business. You made a lot of money at an early age.
A: Yes, I began in technology in Silicon Valley, California after I graduated college. Because that was so successful, thank the Lord, I began to diversify, created Sullivan Industries, started companies in other fields, and bought or invested in failing companies.
Q: You said, “Thank the Lord.” Are you a Christian?
A: Absolutely. I gave my life to Christ in college. Anything I’ve earned or achieved is due solely to God.
Q: What made you want to invest in Steve Grayson and then the Durand family newspaper?
A: I’m a big motor sports fan in general and specifically of driver Steve Grayson. I loved his idea for a driving school that could also be a discipleship opportunity. As for the Durands, they’d gotten a pretty tough break from the bad guys who destroyed their ability to make a living. I couldn’t just stand by and watch. Plus, I knew both ventures were sound investments.
Q: Tell us about your family.
A: I married my college sweetheart. We had no children, and then she died a few years ago of cancer. Since then, I haven’t been able to think about seeing other ladies. I’m beginning to think the Lord wants me to remain single.
