About the Author
Annmarie M. Roberts is an author, copywriter, and scriptwriter. She is a wife and mother of two. Her soul grew to love writing at a young age. In grade school, she could hardly wait to receive her first writing assignment, “What I did over summer break.” She just loved to impress her teacher with a detailed descriptive read of a summer filled with wonder and fascinating adventures, some of which were true. Writing has been her passion in one form or another ever since. “There is nothing like the power of expression through words to create a moment in time or an imaginative place to magically transport your reader,” Annmarie mused when asked about why she loves to write. When she is not working on commercial script writing, she spends time with her family and volunteers with her church in the community.
Interview with Annmarie
Please welcome author Annmarie M. Roberts who will be sharing with us in today’s author interview.
Hi, Annmarie!
Q: Do you have an author hero? If so who and why this person?
A: My author hero is Jim Stovall. Jim has been fully blind since age twenty-nine yet is a best-selling author. He has three of his thirty novels made into major motion pictures and was named humanitarian of the year. Well, that is sure inspiring to me. His accomplishments are proof that we can do just about anything with drive and the blessings of the Lord, no matter of our limitations.
Q: What genre do you write in and why?
A: I really have enjoyed writing my first novel in the Contemporary Christian Fiction Romance genre. Fiction writing gives an author the most amazing opportunity to create special places and characters, taken from an author’s heart to their fingertips, typing up adventures for their readers. Christian Romance provided a way for me to share my story in a good clean structure so that readers of a younger age group, say teenagers, could enjoy my novel as well. Contemporary, well, it’s inviting for my readers to connect with a story that could happen and dialect that is shared in the South.
Q: Do you have a favorite setting? Is it a real location or fictional?
A: One of my favorite settings is in the town of Home in my novel. It is fictional but fits a Southern farm. Mornings on the Jentry farm; when the cool damp and humid morning air wakens the skin, the rooster wakens the ears, and the smell of Southern breakfast lures one’s taste buds into a happy frenzy. Sounds inviting, right? Yep, sure is.
Q: What is your favorite part of your newest released book?
A: My favorite part of my newest released novel, Hollywood is Not Home, is when Maggie arrives to the town of Home. The kind Southern people, the amazing landscape, the clean fresh air, and the encounter of simple living with a full happy heart brings inspiration to her and to my readers.
Q: Are you at work on a new novel? Can you tell us a little about it?
My current focus is turning my novel into a script. I am keeping hope and working hard to have, Hollywood is Not Home, become a movie someday. In addition, my novel ends with an opportunity for a sequel.
Thank you for telling us a little about your writing today. We look forward to seeing that movie someday.
