Although I’m originally from Western New York state (south of Buffalo), I have lived in California almost all my life. My parents brought us west in the early 1950s in search of better employment opportunities. Southern California was the electronics capital of the US in those days. The first year we lived in a trailer park in a trailer so small, the refrigerator had to set outside. Restrooms/showers and laundry facilities were in a communal building. I don’t know how my mother did it!
