It’s fun to imagine novel settings, but I like to use real locations in my home area Orange County, California. Faces of Courage takes place at a variety of locations around the county. Most of the locations mentioned are real. Here I share the novel’s photo album.
Orange County Coastline – Ahh, enchanting coastlines and Southern California beaches. This is the general location for Faces of Courage.
Villa Park sign – The sign that let’s you know you are here. Here in Villa Park, California.
Santiago Oaks Regional Park – The park where Olivia and Katherine go for a short walk. This location is much further than they were interested in walking to. Katherine just wanted a stroll, not a hike. But the scenery was gorgeous.
Huntington Beach Pier – Olivia and Katherine take a side trip to the Huntington Beach Pier.
Brea Mall – Olivia’s getaway for window shopping, just before she decides to head to the Brea Community Center for a breast cancer support group meeting.
Eichler home – This example of an Eichler designed home is representative of the one in which Olivia and Frank lived. I didn’t find an Eichler home in Villa Park, so this is one location that is not real.
