Fun Fact #1
While I’ve never been on a yacht as fancy as Sully Sullivan’s, I have experienced one a little more humble.
My aunt married wealth (apparently the only one in the family born with a silver spoon LOL). Her husband’s family was big into SoCal real estate development.
When I was a teen, they would invite me to come with them on weekends. We’d start out at their beach house (bigger than my parent’s one house) in Long Beach, California. The next day we’d climb aboard their yacht—it may have been just a plain ol’ boat, but it seemed huge and luxurious to this teen—and head to Catalina Island.
Our destination was a special cove for camping hosted by their yacht club. The rumor was the camp was run by an old timey country singer who had run afoul of the law. True or not, it added some mystery to the location.
It was great fun for my cousins and me.
